We are looking to fill this position in the downtown Louisville, KY area.


Kenway, a Vonachen Family company, is looking to fill a Facility Manager opening in Louisville, KY. This position has many responsibilities including hiring, job and safety training, quality assurance, job bidding, and sales and marketing. Responsibilities will also include scheduling staff, approving employee time records and managing a budget including labor and supplies. This position will be the front line customer contact for our accounts so strong relationship management skills are required. 

Required Skills

Retail, Restaurant, Military and Hospitality industry experience encouraged to apply!

Experience motivating and coaching employees is required. Account Management/Customer Services skills are paramount. 

Plans staff assignments, order supplies and control inventory.

Develops duty lists for employees and inspect work to ensure proper completion.

Assists in goal setting for the custodial department and recommend work improvements.

Performs quality assurance inspections and audits.

Leads in training and development of staff.

Takes action to correct deficient employee performance.

Performs hands-on cleaning tasks to include but not limited to buffing, waxing, carpet cleaning, general cleaning, stocking and minor equipment maintenance when needed.

Resolves client complaints.

Attends various training sessions.

Control expenses within area of responsibility.

Develop and recommend account operating budget and ensure the department operates within budget.

Plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and supervise functions and activities of the department.

Establish work standards and work flow.

Establish and maintain effective lines of communication with the client and facility personnel to ascertain that their needs and requirements as related to the facility management contract are being satisfied.

Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies.

Maintain an environment that is in sanitary, attractive, and orderly condition.

Ensure that environmental procedures are being followed

Demonstrate and promote culture, values, and management philosophy.

Proactive in the achievement of the facility goals and objectives.

Demonstrate quality leadership in meeting performance plans.

The position will include bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, a lot of walking and lifting up to 40 pounds.

A criminal background check and drug screening, results of which are not necessarily a bar to employment are required.

Flexibility in working hours is important as this position will require availability during first shift for customer relations, though the majority of the duties will occur on second shift.
