Responsibilities/Duties

VSI is looking to fill After Treatment Material Handler positions at an industrial location in Pontiac, IL.  The primary function of this position is to move finished and unfinished steel through various steps of the welding process.  Duties and assignments are focused around three key areas within this team: 1) material handling – moving parts from one welding bench to another via transport containers while monitoring checklists to ensure all parts are accounted for; retrieving new parts to be re-welded in the case of mistakes or accidents, utilizing a fork truck to move the larger builders from one station to another, providing information to data entry for the recording of material transfers 2) laser cutting – utilize a fork truck to retrieve large sheets of metal for laser cutting or bending and then delivering these pieces to welders 3) pack-out – placing completed units in boxes via overhead crane and completing the wrapping and preparation for shipment.

Required Skills

Attention to detail and comfort with repetitive and physical work are very important.  Employees may be required to lift up to 40 pounds and will be required to stand, sit, stoop and bend throughout the day.  Ability to operate a fork truck and crane are a plus.

Details

The pay rate is $12/hour. Full-time benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, 401(k), STD, vacation and holidays.
The work schedule(s) for these positions are Monday - Friday, 7 AM - 3 PM.  Must be available for overtime and weekends.
